Forging knife blades

The Bladesmithing workshop is at an intermediary level. It aims to teach the basic theories and techniques of forging a fixed blade knife.

 

OBJECTIVES

  • Learn about the tools, equipment and work and safety rules in a shop;
  • Study the bevelling and molecular structure of the grain in steel;
  • Understand the necessary steps in the conception and creation of a knife blade (scribing to scale 1/1, forging, standardization, heat treatment, finishing, sharpening).

By the end of the training, you will be able to explore the art of bladesmithing independently.

Possibility of preceding this course with an introductory damascus workshop to be able to forge Damascus blades.

Prerequisites: Introductory Class or equivalent eperience (recommended)
Cost: 600 $ + tax per person
Duration: 2 days, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
