For the 2013 Nuit blanche à Montréal, we present live forging in a great setting.
Witness the making of a forge-welded chain. Using traditional methods and techniques, one blacksmith will shape the links while two others assemble and fire-weld the chain.
Another team of two blacksmiths will demonstrate the techniques for forging a traditional kedge anchor: two people hammering, and the forging hammer.
A finished anchor made using ancestral methods will also be in view. And you can see our very own Nazel forging hammer, which just turned 100 years old.
The blacksmiths will be available to chat and give explanations. On March 2nd, 2013, from 20:00 to 02:00, welcome to all!
